Pastor Mitch Nelson

Pastor Mitch Nelson serves as the Assistant Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church. He states, “I thank the Lord that I had the privilege of growing up in a pastorandmrsmitchnelsonChristian home that loved the Lord and was faithful to the local church we attended. It was at the age of seven that I realized I couldn’t get to heaven by my family’s heritage, but that I needed to make it personal in my own life by trusting Christ as my personal Savior.”
During summer Bible camp between the sixth and seventh grade, Pastor Nelson surrendered to the Lord to do whatever He wanted him to do. During his studies at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, he had the privilege to serve one summer as a short-term missions student in the country of Scotland. He also served one summer as a Youth Evangelist for Neighborhood Bible Time. He teaches Sunday School at Immanuel.
Pastor Nelson’s ministry experience has included having him as a Youth Pastor in three churches. Pastor Nelson also serves as the Administrator of Immanuel Baptist Christian School and has done so now since 1978. God has opened the door for him to work in the Reformers Unanimous Program, especially working in the jail ministry. Pastor Nelson testifies that he is extremely thankful for the men he has met during his time there.
Pastor Nelson truly enjoys discipling others and can often be seen working on the wood pile. His wife, Alexia, has been his completer as she has helped  in whatever capacity she has been needed.  She truly has been a Proverbs 31 wife, and he praises God for her.
