Pastor Larry Borner

Pastor Borner farmed with his father in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, until God called him into the ministry at the age of 30. While in the military in El Paso, pastorandmrslarrybornerTexas, he met his wife, Donna, at Hillcrest Baptist Church. After returning to the farm, he still felt God’s calling for the ministry, and so in 1977, he surrendered to preach. He attended four years of Bible college while supporting his wife and their four boys.

After graduation, he became the Youth Pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, for eight years. This was followed by his acceptance as Assistant Pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the next eight years. The Lord then used Pastor Borner to help start Southside Baptist Church of West Allis, Wisconsin, where he served as Assistant Pastor for six years. Pastor Borner was then called to be the Senior Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie, Wisconsin in December of 2001, where he has served faithfully to this present time. Pastor Borner has had the call of God upon his life and has had a passion to minister to individuals and families for nearly 35 years to help disciple, train, mentor and see people come to know Christ as Saviour. His love for people, his humble and caring spirit, and his practical teaching and preaching have been staples of how he has help lead the people at Immanuel Baptist Church.

His wife, Donna, has been an invaluable, Godly help to the ministry as an excellent teacher and speaker. Their four boys and their families are all serving God in their respective churches today. Pastor Borner’s hobbies include fishing, camping, remodeling, and helping others.

Pastor Borner’s desire is to see all men come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. He believes that the Church can be and should be an exciting experience in the life of the believer.
